SELF HYPNOSIS IS -
A special psychological state with
certain physiological attributes, resembling sleep only superficially
andmarked by a functioning of the individual at a level of awareness other
than the ordinary conscious state.This state is characterized by a degree
of increased receptiveness and responsiveness in which inner experiential
perceptions are given as much significance as is generally given only to
external reality.
The hypnotized individual appears to
heed only the communications of the hypnotist. He seems to respond in an
uncritical, automatic fashion, ignoring all aspects of the environment
other than those pointed out to him by the hypnotist. He sees, feels,
smells, and otherwise perceives in accordance with the hypnotist's
suggestions, even though these suggestions may be in apparent
contradiction to the stimuli that impinge upon him. Even the subject's
memory and awareness of self may be altered by suggestion, and the effects
of the suggestions may be extended (posthypnotically) into the subject's
subsequent waking activity.
The history of hypnosis is as ancient as that
of sorcery, magic, and medicine, to whose methods it belonged. Its scientific history
began in the latter part of the 18th century with Franz Mesmer (q.v.),
a Viennese physician who used it in the treatment of patients. Because
of his mistaken belief that it was an occult force, which he
termed “animal magnetism,” that flowed through the hypnotist into the subject,
he was soon discredited; but hypnotism, or mesmerism, as it was
named after him, continued to interest medical practitioners. A number
of clinicians made use of it without adequate recognition of its nature
untilthe middle of the 19th century, when the English physician James
Braid (q.v.) studied its phenomena and coined the terms hypnotism and
hypnosis.
Hypnosis
attracted widespread scientific interest in the 1880s. Ambroise-Auguste
Liebeault, an obscure French country physician whoused mesmeric
techniques, drew the support of Hippolyte Bernheim, professor of medicine
at Strasbourg. Independently they wrote that hypnosis involved no physical
forces and no physiological processes but was a combination of
psychologically mediated responses to suggestions. At about the same time,
the Austrian physician Sigmund Freud visited France and was impressed by
the therapeutic potential of hypnosis for neurotic disorders. On his
return to Vienna he used hypnosis to help neurotics recall disturbing
events that they had apparently forgotten. As he began to develop his
system of psychoanalysis, theoretical considerations, as well as the
difficulty he encountered in hypnotizing some patients, led Freud to
discard hypnosis in favour of free association. (Generally psychoanalysts
have now come to view hypnosis as merely an adjunct to the
free-associative techniques used in psychoanalytic practice.)
Despite Freud's
influential adoption and then rejection of hypnosis, some use was made of
the technique in the psychoanalytic treatment of soldiers with combat
neuroses during World Wars I and II. Hypnosis subsequently acquired
various other limited uses in medicine. Various researchers have put forth
differing theories of what hypnosis is and how it could be understood, but
there is currently still no generally accepted explanatory theory for the
phenomenon.
The techniques
used to induce hypnosis share common features. The most important
consideration is that the person to be hypnotized (the subject) be willing
and cooperative and that he trust in the hypnotist. The subject is invited
to relax in comfort and to fix his gaze on some object. The hypnotist
continues to suggest, usually in a low, quiet voice, that the subject's
relaxation will increase and that his eyes will grow tired. Soon the
subject's eyes do show signs of fatigue, and the hypnotist suggests that
they will close. The subject allows his eyes to close and then begins to
show signs of profound relaxation, such as limpness and deep breathing. He
has entered the state of hypnotic trance. A person's responsiveness to
being hypnotized is greatest when he believes that he can be hypnotized,
that the hypnotist is competent and trustworthy, and that the undertaking
is safe, appropriate, and congruent with his wishes. Therefore induction
is generally preceded by the establishment of suitable rapport between
subject and hypnotist.
Ordinary
inductions of hypnosis begin with simple suggestions made by the hypnotist
that will almost inevitably be accepted by all subjects. At this stage
neither subject nor hypnotist can readily tell whether the subject's
behaviour constitutes a hypnotic response ormere cooperation. Then,
gradually, suggestions are given that demand increasing distortion of
perception or memory (e.g., that it is difficult or impossible for the
subject to open his eyes). Other methods of induction may be used. The
process may take considerable time or only a few seconds.
The resulting
hypnotic phenomena differ from one subject to another and from one trance
to another, depending upon the purposes to be served and the depth of the
trance. Hypnosis is a phenomenon of degrees, ranging from light to
profound trance states but with no fixed constancy. Ordinarily, however,
all trance behaviour is characterized by a simplicity, a directness, and a
literalness of understanding, action, and emotional response that are
suggestive of childhood. The surprising abilities displayed by some
hypnotizedpersons seems to derive partly from the restriction of their
attention to the task or situation at hand and their consequent freedom
from the ordinary conscious tendency to orient constantly to distracting,
even irrelevant, events.
Suggestibility,
a state of greatly enhanced receptiveness and responsiveness to
suggestions and stimuli presented by the hypnotist, constitutes the
central phenomenon of hypnosis. Appropriate suggestions by the hypnotist
can induce a remarkably wide range of psychological, sensory, and motor
responses from persons who are deeply hypnotized. By acceptance of and
response to suggestions, the subject can become deaf, blind, paralyzed,
hallucinated, delusional, amnesic, or impervious to pain or to
uncomfortable body postures, or he can display various behavioral
responses that he regards as reasonable or desirable in the given
situation that has been suggested to him by the hypnotist.
One fascinating
manifestation that can be elicited from a subject who has been in a
hypnotic trance is that of posthypnotic suggestion and behavior. By this
is meant the subject's execution, at some later time, of instructions and
suggestions that were given to him while he was in a trance. With adequate
amnesia induced during the trance state, the individual will not be aware
of the source of his impulse to perform the instructed act. Posthypnotic
suggestion, however, is not a particularly powerful means for controlling
behaviour when compared to a person's conscious willingness to perform
actions.
Many subjects
seem unable to recall what happened while they were in deep hypnosis. This
posthypnotic amnesia, as it is called, can either result spontaneously
from deep hypnosis or it can result from suggestion by the hypnotist
during the trance state. The amnesia may include all the events of the
trance state or only selected items, or it may be manifested in connection
with matters unrelated to the trance. Posthypnotic amnesia may be
successfully removed by appropriate hypnotic suggestions.
Conversely,
hypermnesia, a memory capacity that transcends the everyday ability, is
another aspect of hypnotic behaviour. For example, in the trance state,
the subject, by virtue of an uncritical willingness to make the effort and
a freedom from inhibitions deriving from preformed judgments, can vividly
remember long-forgotten, even deeply repressed experiences, recount them
in extensive detail and still maintain an amnesia for them at the ordinary
level of consciousness. This remarkable ability permits the recovery of
memories that are otherwise unavailable to conscious awareness, and it was
thus of great usefulness to Freud as he embarked on his explorations of
his patients' unconsciously held memories.
Hypnosis has
been officially endorsed as a therapeutic method by medical, psychiatric,
dental, and psychological associations throughout the world. It has been
found most useful in preparing people for anesthesia, enhancing the drug
response, and reducing the required dosage. In childbirth it is
particularly helpful, because it is effective in alleviating the mother's
discomfort while avoiding drug-induced impairment of the child's
physiological function. Hypnosis is highly regarded in the management of
otherwise intractable pain, including that of terminal cancer. It is
valuable in reducing the widespread fear of dental procedures; the very
people whom dentists find most difficult to treat frequently respond best
to hypnotic suggestion. In the area of psychosomatic medicine, hypnosis
has been used in a variety of ways. Patients have been trained to relax
and to carry out, in the absence of the hypnotist, exercises that have had
salutary effects on some forms of high blood pressure, headaches, and
functional disorders. In psychotherapy, hypnosis has been used in a
variety of ways. For example, the technique of revivifying traumatic
events in order to produce an emotional catharsis continues to be a useful
treatment in relieving neuroses with traumatic onset, such as those that
develop in combat, among individuals with relatively stable prior
adjustments.
GETTING YOUR MIND READY FOR SELF-HYPNOSIS
Some do not need more
preparation. They are ready now. This section provides you with the way to
decide whether or not you are ready for some self-hypnosis, or, on the
other hand should you go to a Hypno-therapist to get professional mind
conditioning to be "Mind Ready" for Self Hypnosis. Some mind conditioning
can be achieved by way of prayer and/or Meditation. (Please go back to our

you are ready, The MeetingHouse recommends at least one session with a
Hypnotherapist who approves of self-hypnosis. Still you may not need it.
Don't get too intellectual about this decision.
The open-minded
naive person who has the ability to trust is probably ready to try
self-hypnosis without more ado. Tough minded, right-brain logicians may be
too skeptical without some training. If you are a skeptic ask your self
this question: "Am I flexible and flowing? Can I easily flow with changes
such as forgiveness, compassion, trust, and insightful understanding? Is
my mind ready to bend with the flow with ease? Do I feel a spirit of
acceptance of the change my soul is about to make in me?" How you answer
this question will help you to decide whether or not you are Mind-Ready
for Self-Hypnosis. Alternatively, should you see a practicing member of
the National Guild of Hypnotists for preparation for your practice of
self-hypnosis? As an aside if you are already "successful" with prayers or
meditation you are probably mind ready.
Generally a professional
hypnotist will not use many sessions to get your mind ready. One may be
enough. In most cases up to five sessions should do it. Knowing or
learning about the context of hypnosis will amplify the power of the
self-hypnosis process to flow to a healing. Finally, it could be that you
are mind ready to use this site as a tutorial to raise your proficiency in
self-hypnosis to the level of a successful practicing layperson. Here, you
will find an introduction and some "scripts" that can be used for actual
self-hypnosis sessions. It would be a good way to test whether or not your
mind is ready for the marvelous process of self-hypnosis to aid your:
body, mind, higher self, soul, and spirit to enjoy a healthier, happier
relationship to the planet Earth, the universe, and God. "Go for it! Let
there be Light" The simple minded say the psychobabble words that everyone
knows such as "A client creates his or her own reality". So what's new?"
(This mind-limiting retort is the product of half of a brain.
The
left-side of the brain often does not understand what the right-side feels
and thereby knows.) We are embarking on empowerment. For self-hypnosis to
work one must be able to trust the relationship between your conscious and
unconscious mind. The ability to trust is essential. We ask that you turn
away the negative advice that comes from your inherited programming such
as "If you can't control karma it will control you." We do not need such
elaborate system(s) of thinking to empower self-hypnosis to work. Another
mind limiting idea comes from the Physical Sciences which tether humans by
saying that, "Our five physical senses are all we have to perceive
realty". Though this mind set is essential for scientific experiments,
humans must ask can our five physical senses perceive the whole truth.
The MeetingHouse teaches that the answer is - No. There is the
holographic reality. We are dynamic energetic beings who are driven by
subtle energies that we don't know how to measure, yet. These
electro-magnetic flows can be affected by the attitudes toward self. We
live a Holographic Reality - it says, NO! YES! However, there is a subtle
energy that is not yet explicable by science. It is Holographic. (See

Your function as an open minded human is not to define symptoms, nor
diagnose, nor, prescribe. It is to seek a healing. For many humans it
helps to do some early work on identifying the "Self's" belief system. In
some threatening cases it is mandatory. For example, if a client believes
a breast must be removed (or believes it should not be removed) one should
go to a professional practicing NGH hypnotist who will no doubt make sure
you have seen a medical doctor to validate the diagnosis before attempting
to help.
The health-giving practitioner working with the physician
may help the afflicted one to get mind-ready for the quest for the right
options - is surgery the only way? Is there a better way? Reverend Cooper
remembers his case J.W. who had been scheduled for surgery because of
severe bruxism (i.e. jawbone/nerves inflamed - clenching teeth) Pastor
Cooper urged a 2nd opinion other than a surgeon - he recommended a
licensed psychiatrist. Result? No surgery followed by a course of
talk-therapy in conjunction with some hypnotherapy sessions and some
prescriptions. Result: a return to good health with bruxism under control.
Are you ready to test the source of your burdens (and their limits)? Are
you ready to make your own "better" reality? Some humans want to change.
Some are ready for the quest for their `real self'. The MeetingHouse has
found that there are millions in the USA, who are spiritual humans ready
to try. Are you ready to start on your own process? This process won't
work if you are seeking to be a victim or a martyr. Do you think, "None of
this will work for me?" Then don't try it. Try prayer. Meditation may
help. See a therapist if you want to get over it.
Can
Humans Change Counter-Productive Scripts Such As The Above?
The MeetingHouse gives a qualified, yes. It can be done in healthy
ways for those who are mind ready? Look for the presence in the mind of
autonomy, ability trust and the readiness to accept. (Are you ready to
make a decision or do you need to call your mother or father first?)
(Reverend Cooper asks that you consider this contrast. A power driven
person, Dr. X, who had been diagnosed to be a hysteric, was a master
manipulator. Whenever the facts (reality) threatened in a relationship,
she was the one who always changed the script to avoid such real intimacy?
We see this as change for the wrong reasons not for bettering the self.
Dr. X did not respect the other person who was seeking to get closer
because her hysterical ego- centered drives were an inept attempt to
protect her weak self-worth.)
How Do We as Humans Create
(Re-Create) Reality?
I. Use the Raw Materials. They are:
A. Beliefs - Attitude (Life is what you believe it to be - Victim?
Altruism?) B. Thoughts - Feelings C. Choices - Decisions
II.
Change: A. Beliefs - Attitude ) Filter the dialogue and B.
Thoughts - Feelings)> find the way that conserves C. Choices -
Decisions) and discards in a conscious And unconscious way.
III.
Use Tools: A. Desire - impetus B. Imagination-Basis for
creativity) Stimulate the imagination. Do you relate to Book of Runes? Or
the I Ching? C. Expectancy - goal - Consider that Women Create Babies.
Is creation being barefoot and pregnant? Aren't humans more? Some women
know that bearing a child is not being creative but, instead, an
opportunity to be a good responsible parent in the holistic sense. Some
men know this, too. Human energy can be generative and sustaining:

Adult Trust ought not to be given to another human unless that person owns
the following virtues: Integrity - Honesty, and Competence - It is not
enough to be honest a trustworthy person must also be competent in the
field at issue, plus Fidelity - the ability to sustain loyalty when others
try to end that loyalty. Plus, Commitment - A trustworthy person will
persevere and follow through when the going gets tough. Good Judgment -
Some are honest, are well trained but they lack the elusive but profoundly
important quality of good judgment when advising others. Accountability -
A trustworthy person has the capacity of being responsible for what they
do - They can be held accountable.

to identify the past programs that seem to control you, then alter or
discard them from your toolbox? Can you identify that which you do that is
wrong for you? (e.g. self-pity)? Are you ready to affirm and commit to
self-hypnosis sessions that will undermine the bad programming of the past
and build good ways for your future?
FOUR COMPONENTS TO
WAYS OF CHANGE
1. Are you ready to take
self-responsibility (e.g., duties, obligations, dependable)? You could
have fun doing it!
C. O. R. E. - IT! 2. C - Are you conscious of
pattern behavior, conscious of manipulating; conscious of
responsibilities, etc? 3. O Are you ready to (O)-Own it? (own up to
it) "You must decide to own it. As your thing. Therapists can't turn it
around without you own up to the self-knowledge (remorse?) 4. R - Why
not Release it. (Be a Cat; cover it over.) Move on -insight is not enough
5. E - Can you emote like Meryl Strep Tom Hanks? Or consider - Do you
actually access your deep authentic emotions. Feel intense? Do you bring
it up from the depths of your being to the surface (consciousness) then
one can achieve the fullness and the 'who' that you are - the way to
happiness, [Doing some of the meditative scripts as actual "experience
meditation" could be a good tutorial to help you identify your authentic
feelings.] This MeetingHouse tutorial may be a good way for you to find
the confidence and self-assurance that you are capable when the need
arises to get your mind ready for a self-hypnosis session.
The
Unconscious uses the imagination and visualization as the language of the
unconscious. Conceptually the parts of imagination and visualization
relevant here are: image, color, symbolic, words, scenes, memories, etc.
Your mind has a vast repertoire. For most of us, our conscious mind is
much more limited than artists, poets, non-fiction writers, and some
architects. Still your conscious mind can be trained by you to be very
good at visualization to, for example, help your self with getting ready
for surgery, or, going in to ask the boss for a raise, etc. Consider what
can one do when you have the feeling: "I want to be happy". Focus on your
beliefs, patterns of behavior, identify blockages, (some of them are good
ones - be sure t keep them.) etc. etc., and then move on to owning them to
help you mold your program/process. Let's get started. Consider a time
when you felt: Afraid - Empty - sort of a Nothing.
Such a human
needs to C. O. R. E the episode that was a downer. Thereby, one will
realize that everything in creation is an electro-magnetic frequency of
the universal energy - the inter-connectiveness - the quantum is the
reality. This symbol holds curative properties and resonates with the
future.
Magic Is The Conscious Creation Of Miracles, Of, Or, By The
Spirit
It is believed that there is High magic and Low magic (which we
consciously program). High magic is real but it is of a breakthrough kind.
We don't understand how it happened. Low magic is the implementation of
the aura, the buzz. It is an inner capacity that all humans can do using
their dynamic energy serving humans for God.
Consider the many ways
that science and technology have helped us to see that what our society
calls the individual personality is a changing definition. Now it is
changing at an incredible rate. For example, we now know that the body is
constantly renewing radioactive isotopes - 98% of the atoms of the human
body are replaced yearly. Consider the following "knowables" with the
knowledge humans had about their bodies from biblical times forward to the
beginning of the 20th century. " The "Liver" All cells are replaced every
six weeks. " Stomach lining - every 5 days " Brain cells - in less than
one year " DNA - every 6 weeks " Skeleton - every 3 months / Skull every
month. The body as the temple of our soul is in a constant state of
change. Extending that idea - why are we looking older? The answer is the
key to healing Can we learn a Strategy of Rejuvenation that could be
implemented by health-giving sessions of: prayer, meditation, and
self-hypnosis? Probably the answer is yes if we prepare the mind to be

The Brain communicates with
neuropeptides that attach to synapses and neurons. Every cell resonates to
the holistic state of mind. The cells do "think" they have work,
community, reaction. Consider that famous woman who was in a coma for
years while the self-righteous fought to deny her the secular permission
to die. It is true that Katherine Quinlan's final diary entry said, "I
wish I could go to sleep and never wake up" Yes, this was her last diary
entry! (It was many years later, after too many years of misguided
opposition - that her wish was fulfilled.) How strongly does the mind
influence the body? We all know about gastric indigestion being caused by
anxiety, suppressed anger, and the like. Beyond that we know there are
expert health-givers who believe that cancer always has as a major source
-anger repressed. For example, anger about roles? Anger about the- "Why
me?" - of Breast Cancer? The start of malignant prostate cancer for a man
whose spouse is denying him sexual intimacy?
There are grounds to
believe that the power of the mind (magic) to reverse physical processes
does occur. It is likely that some cancer remissions can be attributed to
a sea change in the attitude of the patient - (e.g. for women with breast
cancer (tumor out -or, worse, tumor in) This power of anger suppressed or,
alternatively released translates into magnetic and anti-magnetic force of
such people. Humans could be drawing negative forces to themselves, or
better positive forces to themselves. To be successful at healing through
self-hypnosis one needs to "Own the Territory Of The Healing Principles".
Healing Lets start with an analogy - Surely, we know (if not
scientifically) that Dowsers do find water with dowsing rods? Isn't this
an illustration of Bio-fields on this planet Earth? The Rod held in the
hands of the walker responds to something (energy) in the fields. Water
dowsers use it to find that energy. Focus now on your own bio-field.
Visualize and remember a sorrowful event.
Does remembering produce
a "depressed feeling" in the now? Changeover: now remember and visualize
an event that produced a "happy feeling" You know it happened. Own it.
Enjoy it now. Our brain chemistry acts very quickly to cause changes in
mood that can be self-induced. The "aura" is probably a bio-energy field
and a thought form. Some humans are better at emanating it and/or
resonating with it than others though they many not be consciously aware
or it. Consider: A cancer cell is not functioning for the body; it is
sucking up energy and using it for bad growth. Fear may be stimulating it
to be more active. FEAR Fear comes from
separation from one's source of power- GOD. Fear is useful, but it can be
destructive. NEGATIVE EGO - Ego-is-in-charge,
some say it is no more than the MOS as in DOS in effect, the Mind
Operating System. It can operate to our benefit. But when you give it too
much power, it can be self-aggrandizing and become a conceited fool
Thereby it goes negative and begins adopting defensive actions and uses
the blame-game to blame your body, your higher self even your soul for
what has gone wrong. It is in that way that you manipulate yourself to not
take responsibility (and you are ignoring that there is a higher power to
help you). The duality, and reality, here is that the self creates the
ego-system for dealing with life. One can gain automaticity - like cruise
control - but the control may become worse - looping) Yet, one can make a
large error by going too far toward the other end of the spectrum - acting
in ways to give up the power of self.
When you give up running
yourself -autonomy -you lose ownership of your self. The following
discussion is provide some examples to help some participants identify
past behavior and/or programming that could be a moving cause in their own
life that has embedded a need for a series of self-hypnosis sessions to
break the hold the past has on one's self. "Getting over it" is a critical
breakthrough for many who henceforth live a much better, happier, life.
Blame and judging others -Are Age-Old Manipulations they are learned
behavior cleverly designed to take focus off the real issue. Blindly
judging and passive aggressive behavior towards others is using
manipulation. Though shame can be authentically based on an anti-social or
worse-very bad behavior; it is often misplaced or adopted by a victim who
feels, inaccurately, that he/she was a cause of the bad act. Consider: A
Nine-year old who continues to feel defective because he had to make a
choice during divorce. (Remember Pat Conroy's The Great Santana - the over
aggressive father bouncing the basketball on the forehead of his son who
has just defeated him, for the first time, in a bucket ball game?)
Fear (and or resentment) is inculcated in various ways by
defective parenting: *Treating children like adults *Sexual Abuse *Ways of
Inducing Guilt as False Shame Because we have so many inept parents on the
planet, it is probable that between 2-3-4 or thereabouts, one may be
scarred - by being taught-during a memorable episode-that you will be
abandoned abused or wronged for some immature act - forced into
misconstrued shame. The next level is during teenage/puberty change. The
pain of scarring and open wounds during this stage will be a memorable
incident. A wounding occurs - Some of us are so scarred that we can not
break through to loving and trusting again without help. As Erikson
explains in the home page link Eight Stages of Human Life, some never
work through such a crisis to trust and hope, again. Instead, they plateau
at this early stage and do not go on to a more mature level. Though it
would be difficult to achieve, a professional practitioner may be able to
help the shamed one to reconstruct a healthy ego. The difficulty is that
there has been a maladjustment that worked to adjust to the distorted idea
that this (the behavior of the inept parent) is how the world works - the
scarred one wants to know the rules - they create a law that they won't
violate for if violated? - Then it is scary.
Bradshaw says this is
the wounding of the child within. Can one deal successfully with teenage
wounding? Very difficult to deal with. One could try the kind of
reconstruction through repetitions of Maxwell Martz's Cybernetics
Re-Programming to achieve a more hopeful and optimistic outlook. It would
be better if one had a mentor in one's life that could properly and
ethically re-parent the child.
Level 1 - Is the child
wounded?
Heal it to get to next one - Re-parent the
child. Level 2 - How was the adolescent wounded? Most who suffer such
shame (often based on child abuse) need to go back to make their life
magical again. Go back to restore those talents and the sense of aliveness
that one had to give up surviving the bad parenting. The need is to
discover that you want to "become" through the acts of your autonomous
self. Level 1 - Re-parenting the child - Consider developing a scenario as
a practicum under self-hypnosis conditions, or, if one can afford it, go
with a professional practitioner as one's guide. One should succeed in
playing with the child within use C.O.R.E. to carry one forward on to
Level 2. Consider going back by way of meditation scripts. Seek God's help
through prayer. Then start a structured meditation. For some who can go
into deep sub-conscious states, the MeetingHouse urges inner-child work in
a meditative state -"talk to your child within in various ways. One should
envision or imagine that the child's safe place, say, on the beach, or,
under the "house" up in tree? Do it wherever the child feels safe.
"Somebody's got to help this kid find a way out of that place." - It is
for you the Adult to do it. Talk therapist can help. In addition,
hypnotists and self-hypnosis can work for some. Again, an NGH practitioner
can aid one to make a wise choice. We will continue to use human
personality development to demonstrate how self-hypnosis may be used to
successfully modify dysfunctional (bad) programming.
Level
2 - Treating the Wounds of the Adolescent
One can go to
the adolescent growth period after you re-parent the small child. You
don't re-parent the adolescent. The teenager needs, instead, a friend. The
relationship will be rocky, teenagers' will be a bit paranoid about an
adult as a friend, teenagers may be angry. Tragically, we all know there
is a well known dark stain on the reputation of the roman catholic church
because of the horrible abuse of trust by priest's who adopted the role of
friend and mentor to gain the confidence of a troubled teenager then
betrayed that immature human by seducing him into sexual relations. The
teenage, seduced, is made to feel that he can get the acceptance and
approval he/or/she needs by way of the fraudulent re-parenting faked by
the betraying seductive self-serving mentor. The first abuse by earlier
parent(s) was scarring. It is revolting to think about how destructive
such abuse of the adolescent is when piled on top of an earlier abuse. It
can stunt the growth and development of one of us.
The foregoing
example was designed to make clear that one must be clear-headed in
deciding whether or not one is ready for self-hypnosis. As we will
illustrate in a moment it is a way of working with God that is relatively
easy and frequently successful at low cost. Mind readiness must be
evaluated with the focus of clarity, truth, love, a passionate perspective
and the clam of peacefulness. Use of the Meditative State or Self Hypnosis
Technique Aids One in Getting to One's Higher Self. You and child within.
You and the teenager. You and higher self. Talk them into easy, safe,
meditation. One can learn that it is a pleasant experience for your
"Parts" - body/mind/soul/and spirit. The use of a well-designed
transformational meditative tape over a series of sessions, say 2 weeks,
can take one's self into the child's safe place for sensitive work.
Painful work ought to be deferred to the time when the person has gotten
to a trustful mentor or health-giving practitioner as the transformation
counselor. Concept of a Healing Crisis As the body releases impurities
(psychic detoxification) there can be a rash, diarrhea, anxiety, and
discomfort. This dark night of soul is a healing crisis not a step back. A
holistic world view, accepting of other disparate world views (See Talbot
- The Holographic Universe) helps to understand how self hypnosis and or
meditation can work to replace slower-phased transition(s). The key to
breaking through the slower type - phase or stages of transition - is for
you to take responsibility - C.O.R.E.
On the other side of this
transition is where the magic occurs: C conscious of what you know Own it
Release it Emotions - Free them up! It's not the technique, it's the
process. You are to use your instincts and imagination. Language is weaker
and it breaks down. Symbols are more powerful - they release the magic.
THE HIGHER SELF AS A RESOURCE
You have a soul. Between you and your soul is your higher self.
(Perhaps, it is the container of all your past and future life times).
Ornstein's perception of the "Mind" is that of a M.O.S. (Mind Operating
System). It is an inter-connector that links within it the: Spirit Soul
Higher self Mind (The Mind Operating System.) Body Though it is anathema
according to Christian leadership, most of the humans on Earth believe
that we come into this lifetime with a past. But due to the conditioning
of the human's life one's blockages, fears, manipulations to get payoffs
are all embedded along with this inheritance. Still, your soul encourages
spirituality it is your personal relationship to and with GOD (the Force).
Spirituality is your private relationship with the Force (God). Many
scholars believe that Jung, Meade, Lao Tzu, and others, encouraged one to
accept that you have two counselors who work with you - Your Animus (male)
and you're Anima (female), Yang and Yin. You are "here" to learn how to
create the capacity for fun and enjoyment of that quest known as the
journey of life. Know that you are worthy. Your soul is connected. You
have a spark of GOD. There is a Light within.
Descartes view was
useful for a closed system like the scientific experiment. However, the
MeetingHouse rejects the dualism of cause-and-effect as an
over-simplification. Perhaps, humans would have made more progress if
Descartes had said, "I think I think therefore I am!" You are the one who
creates the hologram within that is a refection of the universe. Some who
believe in the perfectibility of humans have a personal need to say that
all humans are not bad people per se. For example, Jeffrey Dahmer, the
secretive butcher/cannibal and serial-killer, to those who believe in
perfectibility of humans, was not a "bad" just a wacko person.
The
MeetingHouse does not reject the fact that there are sociopathic
personalities who know what is good but want to do evil for the thrill of
it. Someday when we know more we might be able to help the sociopath, but
for now we must accept the reality that these people are dangerous to
themselves and others. However, to want a cure is necessary. First a
sociopathic personality must make the conscious choice to change (own it -
release it) C.O.R.E. Most of them can not do it because they like (are
addicted to?) the power gained by their anti-social deviant behavior. Can
they do it? A rare few, yes. In your childhood you probably lost the
relationship to your higher self. Most of us do. In adulthood through
wisdom you can regain your relationship to your higher self. You may
choose not to pursue the direct relationship. You can still have coherent
cohesive connected LOVE from self and others.
MAKING THE LIST OF REASONS TO CONNECT WITH HIGHER
SELF
If "you" want the relationship, in effect, to
connect to the higher self, then make a list of the reasons why. Then go
over the list and delete any reasons that are not related to being loved
and to Love. The age old theme: Just to Love and be loved in return may be
a universal truth. All humans want life to be such an experience. Below
are the four stages recommended to start a relationship to your higher
self? 1. Make the List (then delete any not related to being loved and
to love). 2. Meditate - Go to a place reserved for nurturing this
relationship. 3. Own the special Place. Pay attention to the many
detail of this special place (own it). 4. Notice the Gift-Box (your
design) a. It is a Love Box b. Place in the Love Box an object (one that
feels right). It is a gift for the higher self (b-1) It wants to be a
friend, but not for subservience to or from you. c. During your absence,
the higher self will take and give you an object. This gift for you leads
to an exchange of gifts (what are they? why this object?) Do this for a
few weeks. (Note: If you didn't find anything in the box then you have a
very difficult time receiving. If this happens, then put in a note asking
for help in receiving.) 5. After about the 7th day your higher self
will be there waiting - what it will be (Animus?) (Anima?) Maybe a male or
female form. The higher self will be there for you in its own way. Maybe
it will be a "light" a ball of light or some such symbol. 6. Sometimes
just hang out together with the higher self It is worth learning to do.
(Do not animate it like Harvey, the rabbit). Many will feel a need to
identify an object as the Higher Self. Please, do not classify it, don't
seek cause and effect. Reject this lower level. There are stages so press
on for a process, the continuum, the flow, it will feel right, or, correct
to do so. Use your higher self to help your self to process toward working
with you own higher self. Many MeetingHouse participants are discomfited
by a distant view of God as anthropomorphic (God's in His Heaven, etc.) In
a Big Bang Universe of quantum physics, God in the Sky is to them no
creditable. This includes both the masculine God and the feminine Goddess.
The Tao is invisible and without shape. It is important to reject
polarity as the drivers of human destiny and the duality of cause and
effect. Our spirits seek to be the unitary flow of our universe. (Go to
HomePage Navigation Pane for more on -The God Problem. Many such as the
writer Tom Robbins, Malachi Martin, etc., have spoken out with vigor
against the age-old, dubious, distorting victory of Yahweh over Mother
Nature. Today the paradigm shift is on going - We are restoring women to
their place - honor the process. Let the space dictate.
We return
by to treating The CHILD who forms (programs) as a pervasive fundamental
ground for change. Those old programs become the "buttons" to be pushed.
They are sometimes defensive sometimes attacks (as a kind of defense).
There is a modality of treatment for such programming problems:
COURSE OF
MIRACLES This is a
three step technique leads to "peace of mind" by breaking up of
pain/defense attach/blame. Some other person may be pushing the button but
they are not causing the pain. Yes, it is you, having been preconditioned;
you are galvanized to action by the response to the "button pushed":
2. (A) you are the author - it is your button that is the problem.
(b) Don't let the button set you off. (You once preprogrammed the
blockage, fear and/or payoff). That response by you is a subroutine that
is dictating your life. 3. You are capable and will feel peace of
mind. You will break the attack/defense mode - the pain/blame - You can
and will re-program yourself for the flowing pursuit of happiness with an
optimistic outlook. Remember the process is more important than the story
(or context). It is probable that you won't experience step 3 without
processing step 1 and or 2. Initially one must get rid of the loop, the
cycle responding to the dysfunctional programming. Don't worry about
knowing the why of the old program for now. Later you can consider
discovery of why the button developed. Or another approach is to use
"Chi-Kong", in effect, turn to holistic health relaxation methods. In
effect, "Get over it." Simply throw-out or cover-over the past, discard
it, and rebuild with a new philosophy. An aside: It appears that some of
the "born-again evangelicals believe that they are doing it.
They
try to substitute faith for the old bad programming. Could be workable.
But, too many of them substitute cultism and follow -the- leader (pastor)
and instead of nurturing self-responsibility- start up another bad
program. They become sub-servants of an authoritarian church. It is not
what Jesus or the Designer intended. We hasten to add: Don't mess with
beliefs and choices made in the past at this stage of seeking autonomy.
Many have trouble with the place of beliefs in their life. It is sad that
they seem to be after clichés that could result in automated responses.
They feel that self-hypnosis is "too good to be true."
BEWARE OF ADULTS WHO REALLY DON'T WANT TO BE
HEALED
There are three levels of clients.
Level 1. Not Healing is Their Game
No matter
how many times they try self-hypnosis they will not heal because that is
not their fundamental desire. (Martyrdom). a. They don't take non-healing
as a failure -- they are into losing. These people need a professional
health-giver whom they can trust when they are ready. Manipulating and
martyrdom is their way to attack, defend, to avoid change, to punish. Yes,
even to punish Analysts and God. They feel "owed". They want paid for what
happened to them -some are elderly, they know it all - they are doing
their suffering as they wait to die.
Level
2.
There are some who
want to heal only the symptoms not the underlying condition. - They want a
temporary fix. But, they don't want to give up the Anger, the Blame. They
want a fixer to get rid of self-justifying pain.
Level 3.
They want their
life to change. They seek a counselor/therapist who will get to roots -
blockages, payoffs, the are patients who are tired of games. They want to
get rid of past buttons - deal with fear and anger. They are best treated
by Level 3 therapists. Still, it is clear that many of these people can
make great progress with a hypnotist or self-hypnosis if they are
"mind-ready". Help those who are dying to embrace death. Give it back to
them as part of life (Martin Luther King's "Free, Free, at Last".)
ARE YOU READY TO WORK ON ONE'S FOUR
D'S
The Four (4) "Ds" are - (Humans use them to
divert attention from the underlying problem) your job is to get in to a
mental state where you will use self-hypnosis and scripts to work on
blockages, fears, manipulative payoffs and pain. - Denial - Discounting -
Defense - Distraction The above are in order. Worse, one may have a
favorite, but the above order is what occurs. Imagine an example from
ordinary life a husband/wife confronting an affair. Observe the pattern of
behavior through denial, discounting, defending and distraction as the way
we are. As we know some politicians do it. For example, Clinton and Bush
use the 4 D's to direct us away from their blockage and toward a
manipulative payoff.
Dr. Cooper relates that some of these
defenses may be physically manifested and there is a need for physician
intervention in addition to hypnosis and counseling. Rev. Cooper relates a
case where a male spouse was experiencing extraordinary betrayal by the
female spouse - First, he had severe headaches, then /teeth
clenching/followed by stomach/heartburn/then, severe constipation/and
finally diarrhea. A tough way to flush it out, such behavior requires more
than counseling. Listen to your self. Sub-vocalized words, will ring like
a bell, you'll see it on your visualization screen, work with that -
C.O.R.E. - work toward release.
Try focusing: Keep on the issue -
not the distractions. You may need rapport with another - a mentor a
counselor - This relationship can be valuable it is at the center of the
client-counselor process. Your true function is to open up the ground in
your being (the place) where spirituality can grow and make change. The
following is quote attributed to Jung - "Beyond age 40 there is no need
for psychology, it is useless because the problems are spiritual." That is
a very sophisticated insight. Many who are spiritual but not religious can
grow and change in their middle and golden years by pursuing spiritual
experiences - nurture change in the self. Help magic to happen. Illness is
a mistake in need of correction. (Holographic resonance is not in
balance).
You must be willing to 'hear' or 'see' or feel the issue
- Something needs to be worked on? Here are some common examples:
Co-dependency Death & dying You must see the issue with clarity. You
and the issue are dancing a dance until you 'own it' and then 'release
it'. Find the Path to the Healing In 21st century old paradigms are
loosing their grip on the minds. They are not going peacefully. For every
human who ascends to the summit to see the dawning of a new day, there are
thousands who are guarding the pass. Old systems of security are being
shattered. The patriarchal paradigm is being replaced. Feminine influences
are on the rise. Rev. Cooper reminds us that Lewis and Clark got lost in
the woods. It was Sacagawea, a woman, who showed them the way to the
Pacific Coast (she got them out of the woods).
THE POWER OF NEGATIVE FEELING
In
working on getting the 'Mind Ready" we are going to change our focus to
show the power of negative feeling. Negative feelings can weaken the
effectiveness of the immunological system. The sorrow of heartbreak is
real. There is a power of the higher self to deal with pain and release it
that has been observed countless times. You can learn to turn on the
healing power and invite your self to give up the pain. It is not a
ritual. It is a process with the knowledge that the higher self can help
the mind and body to heal or relieve symptoms. Characteristics &
Attributes of Transformational Thinking that can make Self-Hypnosis more
Effective 1. All healing starts in the mind. The body is a projection
of the mind. 2. Be an observer as well as a participant. You will
learn through self-hypnosis healing 3. The greatest "joy" is the
enjoyment of healing. If you aren't experiencing that happiness, you need
to re-think your attitude, repair, correct, restore. 4. All healing is
a matter or function of some kind of forgiveness. Usually, one does not
make it right - it was wrong - but you can with good feeling let yourself
off the hook. Don't forgive what "they" did, try, instead, to forgive why
they did it. Caution, Watch out for the appearance of forgiveness without
being real. Are you forgiving others, when you say, "I'll forgive, but
I'll never forget". Is that a way of damning oneself with the past. 5.
A principal function of choosing to do a series of self-hypnosis sessions
is to the cycle(s) of self destructive behavior - fears, beliefs the 4 D's
- denials, blockages, games of manipulation. If you are fortunate you will
sense when processing and programming by way of your repeated
self-hypnosis sessions is no longer serving its purpose. (Is it time for
the person you are to turn into a cat and cover that shit and move on).
You will not have failed when you decide to quit for now. Set the pace.
Because process takes time it may be one should stop using the
self-hypnosis sessions for a while. 6. You must keep your ego out of the
way. Take over. Separate your illusions from the true Way.
If one
is successful please avoid promoting myths. For example, "It was meant to
happen" is a myth that takes away self-assurance and personal
responsibility. Have you observed that New Age Types say don't be
negative, don't be hostile, don't make judgments. This is blocking - it is
designed to reduce impact of feelings. This diminishes the power of
judgment and useful boundaries. Use prayer, meditation or self-hypnosis
sessions to release hostility, negativity and badly driven poor judgment.
"It takes very little work (or fun) to straighten it out." Part of this
process is learning to love one's self and trust one's self
more.
COMMENTS ON LEARNING TO LOVE 1. Love
involves Caring. Caring for yourself so you are capable of caring for
others. 2. Taking responsibility with the person not for them. 3.
Always be willing to expand your knowledge and understanding of that other
person. 4. Respect for that person. They, too, have a right to respect
which doesn't mean groveling or subservience. Don't demand change to fit
you. 5. Commitment - when it ends - it ends. Love has ended when one
no longer trusts him or her. 6. Intimacy - Ability to let the moment
be spontaneous not planned. Being vulnerable. Open up your privacy. Be
willing to permit intrusion. Touching. 7. Giving - Always willing to
give and always giving - give things, give time. Give: counseling, fair
play, gratitude. Don't try to practice being loving daily. Respect your
cadence, to force it is wrong - for then you may fail at loving. The brain
is constantly changing. It is only recently (since the start of the age of
reason) that the brains of the western civilization have shuttered out
much of the ocean of consciousness. Western man has a more limited
perception of reality (Consider: the Maoris of New Zealand, the
Appalachian mountain people, Australian aborigines - enlightened
Buddhists, Taoists, and Hindus. They are still able to tune in "to the
universe". They feel the ocean of consciousness. Today television is
enlarging humans' powers of more visualization and spontaneous use of the
imagination. The access route to the holographic consciousness is through
the imagination.
THE ESSENCE OF
MAGIC
What you create in the unconscious must
become conscious. It will at the time you allow it to come in. Dr. Cooper
was enabled to experience a Shaman's Journey to find his power animals to
help him with his quest of life. If you don't allow the outward in, then
fate will do it. Let your own senses do it. Good storytellers trigger
one's imagination. They are healers. Shamans are usually storytellers.
They speak to your unconscious. Set forth below are some ideas to help
with the visualization and power of the meditative self-hypnosis scripts
we will present. In many meditations you see a water fall, it is feminine,
the power of nurturing healing: Enter the meditation. You need to go into
silence -close your eyes - deep relaxation. (More on going down or
entering the hypnotic state through self-induction later in the scripts.)
Location - Furnish the place with your visualization Being there - walk
around then under the waterfall Purification - wash thoroughly, cleanse,
and then project into future Project into Future - take it back with you
Count down -progressively quiet the mind with an induction.
MAKE IT REAL
Most meditations that work are
activated by myths (Dragons, Griffons, Gargoyles, etc...) Going in under
the waterfall symbolizes the memory of the return to the womb and the
comfort of the amniotic Water is the Archetypal symbol for the womb. It's
"magical" - you can breathe what's in the water (prenatal) Therefore,
don't hold your breath.
MAKE THE PLACE
Walk around
underneath the waterfall - you feel in the dark for the gentle way through
the space under the fall. Get into the story. Pace it slowly. Use a
dramatic but soothing voice that is quietly excited about the experience.
Portray expressive images so they can be seen. Maybe; you have been into
fear, blame, judging, denying, etc. Own to it. But know that the
unconscious could release it when in the place of meditation. Release the
feeling of anger - release it! Symbolically one might feel the dirty
clouded water washing it away). Feelings are the language of the
unconscious. Encourage your self to enjoy having the "waters" flush
through and around the blocks, fears, judging, denying etc. Cleanse them
one by one going out through the "hands". Wait, and then when the bad
thoughts seem ready for it have the water flush out the top of the head
like a fountain. (Dirty junky water). Continue until the water: clarifies
- is crystal clear - and clean enough to drink. Then close the mental
eyes, and, magically one is so light! The self is floating: "the
incredible lightness of being".<br. Keys to Meditation: Create a space - furnish it.
Then comes the
Visualization, and, when ready, the Purification "You are awash in filthy
refuse - you need to wash it out." Be ready to say that love washes over
you. "You are willing and able to be loved and to love." Don't rush this.
Do this slowly. Put it on tape. Listen to "See" if it is comfortable. Try
it first, then, when you have burned or copied a good CD use it in future
sessions. One can fill the mind space being visualized with new pro-active
concepts for healing. For example, project into the future. Take one's
self to the time when it is happening. Say to one's self: Go into a mental
sleep count 1 - 2 - 3 - . . . drift to future time when you will "have"
what you want. Follow up by making it real with one's five senses. Are you
outside or inside?" - "What are you wearing? What color is it?" - "What do
you see? (One can visualize good hope)." It is okay to use carefully
chosen musical background, but it must be appropriate.
Music can be absorbing. You
may (should) change the music for different types of healing sessions. One
needs to get "hooked" into a future that is real. Then proceed to awake
from mental sleep -- count down 3 - 2 - 1 -. Bring back the new feeling.
Then when one gets back, there is a gift from the higher self or, say, a
conch shell. Do you have a conch shell, or, some chamber where you can
"hear the 'magic' word from your session? To avoid going to sleep repeat
the CD's words and/or sit up or stand up. This is done to focus attention.
The subconscious or unconscious never sleeps. Therefore, it is done this
way for concentrated attention. < BR >
[Note: If you aren't picking up on the meditation, the place, the
visualization, the process of flow during mental sleep, then you are
probably still at level 1. Your resistance indicates a possible fear. Are
you afraid of this process? - Sometimes such an insight enables a
breakthrough to being able to "wash through" or cleanse.] You have been
patient with the learning process of this tutorial. You now know whether
or not you are ready for self-hypnosis. On the other hand, perhaps it has
encouraged you to make and appointment with an ethical well trained
hypnotist such as the members of the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH).

THE ALCHEMIST's CAVE
(Self Hypnosis)
Sit comfortably,
or, lie down. Gently close the eyes. You desire a healing. It could be
physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. You are ready. On this day, you
want to go into the Alchemist Cave to find the healing that you want and
need. Your eyes are closed now. You are lying or sitting in a relaxing
silence. (Pause) Sense- now- you are going down into that state of gentle
relaxation. You are allowing your mind and body to go deeper and deeper
into this good state of gentle relaxation. It is good. Allow yourself to
drift deeper and deeper like a gentle little pearl tossed into a tall jar
of a golden thick liquid like honey or olive oil.
You sense the pearl drifting
down slowly, slowly, into this tall jar of thick, golden clear fluid. See
it in your mind, see this lustrous glowing pearl. Slowly it descends- a
light creamy glowing pearl going down in the jar of the clear, golden,
thick, rich liquid. Slowly it descends - slowly it falls - floating down
in the rich thick fluid. Sense it now as it moves in the jar of thick
golden liquid. A little white pearl, descending ever so slowly as you
become more and more relaxed as the pearl floats deeper into the jar of
golden fluid. Mentally, physically, emotionally, psychically and
ethereally - you are relaxed wonderfully relaxed. Now see the pearl as it
floats down to about a quarter away from the bottom of the jar.
Slowly descending
through the rich honey-colored fluid. Slowing descending - almost there.
Now see it slowly and gently settle to the bottom of the jar. This is
good. You are now in a state of wonderful relaxation. And now as I count
from 7 to 1 let yourself change even more. Allow yourself to resonant with
that frequency that birthed you. Allow that frequency to resonant - to
alter. To draw into you - from around - you the resonance of Healing. Be
not concerned for your Higher Self knows what this resonance is. Your
higher self will both allow and help you to alter and change you so you
are ready for the changes that you want in the Alchemist's cave. As we
count, know that somewhere in the counting your resonance will adjust,
shift and calibrate to make a good fit for the maximum benefit from this
Alchemist Cave meditation.
We are ready. Let us begin now - 7 - 6 - knowing that
on the count of 1 we will find ourselves at a clearing in the woods, on a
warm sunny summer afternoon. Oh! Yes! A beautiful sunny afternoon. Find
yourself lying on your back on the count of 1. Hearing the sounds you
would hear there. Clearly, you hear the sound of a waterfall cascading
into a pool. Perhaps the sound of birds. Smell, taste, touch, and let your
senses bring this beautiful place more firmly into your experience. Let
your imagination reach out to embrace this wonderful place. Your place. On
the count of 1 - 5- 4- sense the place forming in your mind. You are about
half-way there now - 3 - 2 - and 1. You sense yourself there now, lying on
your back. It feels good. With your mental eyes you see a deep azure blue
sky overhead. The sun is warm but it does not make you squint. It is
filtered by this natural place. Perhaps you see leaves from a canopy of
tall trees swaying gently in the summer breeze or just floating about you.

Now let your senses now make this place even more
appropriate to you. You are in your good place in your mind-your body-in
your feelings. Feel the grass upon which you lie. Touch the soft, deep
green grass with a gentle tickling wave of the palm. Let your fingers dig
deep into the rich gritty earth. Feel, smell, the dampness of the good
earth. Perhaps you smell the fragrances there. The fragrance of summer.
The rich smell of grass and perhaps moss and ferns growing from rocks upon
the ledge from which the waterfall cascades into a crystalline pool.
This waterfall is about 15
feet high. You hear the soft airy roar of the waterfall or perhaps the
babbling of a brook that winds its way from the crystalline pool off to
the ocean-far-far in the distance of your mind. It is relaxing. You sit up
and observe the sights of this - your place. The greens and the color of
wild flowers, bushes and trees. Some are broad-leafed others pine. Perhaps
you see a rabbit, chipmunk or other animal. Or hear the sound of birds.
Perhaps see them in the trees. Some you may recognize - others maybe not.
Taste this place, taste the safety - feel the security. Hear the sounds of
safety. Feel the sounds of this safe place and touch it. Smell the
fragrance and touch the safety of this special place. Let your senses come
alive here.
Feel it in the
very heart and mind of your body. Let it become real. Totally and
completely real. You can hear it, smell it - taste it - touch it. It's all
alive, it's your place. Isn't it alive though? You find yourself standing
and you begin to explore this place of security. Looking here and
there-taking mental notes of each of the objects that are here in the
place. Flowers, perhaps a leaf or twig that fell from a tree. Perhaps an
interesting odd shaped rock or boulder by the cliff. Flowers that are
rather unique. A flower perhaps you have never seen before. Some that look
so very familiar. You explore the pool-with cupped hand you bring in a
mouth full of the water.
While drinking the water you notice behind the
cascading water what appears to be an opening in the side of the cliff.
With curiosity you begin now to explore this and find yourself walking
along a ledge behind the waterfall. As you look through the waterfall you
see the water splashing in the pool and see the light beyond. You turn now
and see a cave. You were right, there is and opening here. And it is a
cave. You walk now into the cave and you notice that the cave is lit with
hundreds of candles. At the far end of the cave you see where an opening
descends down. You decide now to pursue your search for healing. You walk
now to the far end of this chamber to the opening and begin your descent
downward walking downward into the center of the earth.
Moving ever downward-the path
is lit by candle light. And you wind around this way and that. You notice
the damp-wet walls and feel the coolness of the cave and smell the deep
rich earth. You hear the sound of footsteps upon the rocks. Going
deeper-noticing how the cave changes one moment becoming very narrow, very
low causing you to crawl on all fours. The cave has large vaulted ceilings
- noticing the descend and ascend from the roof and floor of the cave. In
the candle light you notice the color of minerals. For this cave is rich
with feldspar and crystals and gold and lapis. Colors of blue and deep
red-orange, yellow and gold. Going ever deeper, descend deeper-always
descending. Wait- you see off in the distance now- a glow- a glow- the
color of red. Perhaps a tunnel. You go to the end of the tunnel a chamber.
Glowing with red and you know that this is the way to go. And you walk
down to the tunnel, through the corridor and yes you see an opening to a
chamber. And the chamber is full with the color of red. A deep tomato red.
A shiny red.
You walk into
this chamber completely surrounded in red. You see nothing except the red.
You stand in the chamber completely surrounded in red, bright-shiny red.
You let the red enter inside of you.-fill you. The red swirls around you
as it enters the pores of your skin, the opening of the mouth and the ears
and the nose. Breathing it into the body-absorbing it into the body. As
you do you feel secure-you feel safe, you feel grounded in the red. You
let it in. When all the red is inside of you-you notice that the chamber
of the cave is no longer red. Feel from head to toe- filled with red.
Every cell of your body, every molecule of your being is bathed in red.
You see at the far end of this chamber a passage way that goes deeper into
the earth. And you walk continuing you descent downward ever downward
until you come to another corridor and at the end of the corridor a
chamber. From the chamber there is a glowing orange color. You walk down
the corridor and into the chamber of orange.
You sense yourself
surrounded by orange and as the orange enters your body it changed the red
that is there and changes it to orange. As the orange enters your body the
red slowly changes to orange. A bright shiny orange- You feel the orange
entering inside of you. Entering you. As it is inside of you-you feel a
pleasure, a joy you feel a fun and enjoyment. Happiness is there inside of
you. A tingling sensation of orange fills you now. The red is replaced
with orange-the room is absent of orange for it is inside of you now. And
like the other chamber it continues on. And you walk through the opening
at the end of the chamber-down once again into the earth until you come to
another corridor. At the end of the corridor you notice a chamber of
yellow. Down the corridor you walk and enter the chamber of yellow and the
yellow also enters inside of you now. It changes the orange into yellow.
You sense the orange becoming yellow. A bright sunny yellow-as it enters
you. You notice your feelings.
You notice you are more connected with your feelings.
The feelings of contentment-of joy-more rich, complete. You feel a calm
and peacefulness. You let all of the yellow in-it transforms the orange.
Nothing is inside of you but yellow. The chamber is absent of any yellow
for it is all in you. You walk to the opening in the chamber continuing
down into the earth until you come to another corridor where there is
another chamber of green- An emerald color of green. You walk into the
chamber and you let the green surround you and permeate you to replace the
yellow with green. You sense the yellow is replaced with the deep and most
beautiful emerald green. It now fills you with green. Every cell
every-molecule-every atom drinking in surrounded permeated in this emerald
green and with it you feel love. You feel loved by God/Goddess.
You feel love and you let the
love in and it warms your heart and soul. Now all the green is inside of
you and not a trace remains in the chamber. You walk again to the far end,
to the opening and there descending down into the earth until in time you
come to another corridor where there is another chamber filled with the
color blue. A sky blue. An azure blue. You walk down the corridor and
enter the chamber of blue. As before the blue enters inside of you through
the pores and openings of the skin. And through the openings in your body;
absorbed, breathed, in to the skin. Changing the green to blue. You let in
the blue and as you do so you feel openness. You feel an expansion. You
feel the boundaries breaking and you are expanding and opening to absorb
the fullness of life. And you let the blue in and the blue is filled in
you now.
Totally inside of
you so no blue remains in this chamber. You walk to the far end through
the passage way and down into the earth once again. Moving down until you
come to another corridor and at the end of the corridor you see a chamber
filled with indigo. Purplish reddish indigo. The color of amethyst. And
you walk down the corridor and enter the chamber like before and you let
the indigo surround you and begin to fill you. To fill you with a deep
sense-a deep inner sense-an intuitive sense. A strong element, a subtle
feeling fills you. Your psychic sense comes alive in the indigo color as
it changes and shifts the blue to indigo. You let the blue fade away and
let the indigo fill you-completely filling you. Now you are filled with
indigo-so there is not a trace of blue left in the chamber. You walk to
the far end of the chamber through the opening down into the earth moving
ever downward until you come to another corridor. At the end of the
corridor you see a chamber filled with violet-violet. You walk down the
corridor and you enter into the chamber of violet. A beautiful Easter
violet. And you let the violet surround you and enter inside of you to
replace the color indigo with this rich vibrant violet. As it do you feel
a deep spirituality? And you feel the energy of love deeper and grander
than ever before. And all the violet enters inside of you now replacing
the indigo-filling you with your spirituality. You are filled now.
Totally filled with violet-you
sense the violet turning to a brilliant white. The violet inside of you
turns to a brilliant dazzling -blinding white light. You know you are a
part of the light. The light is within you. You are filled with white and
beyond the white a chamber there is an opening at the end of the chamber
and you walk to the opening and you see instead of descending downward-you
see a mist. A silvery mist at the end of the of the chamber entrance. You
walk through the opening into this fog-into this mist. You are
walking-moving-you can not see in front of you, but you are walking filled
with brilliant white light. You are a part of the light. Now you enter
through the thick rich grayish mist. And beyond the mist you find yourself
now in a chamber lit by a beautiful hearth-a fire rising high- 6-7 feet
high. A hearth carved in the wall of this chamber.
The only source of light comes
from that hearth. But you can see clearly in the golden light of flames
that this chamber is filled with all manner of plants and roots of berries
and barks-jars of ointments, tinctures, salves, sacks of berries-all
manners of exotic healing plants. Elements of the Earth - gifts from the
Mother - for healing. All of this is contained in this chamber. It's not a
large chamber, but all that is needed for any manner of healing-emotional,
physically, spiritually, mentally is contained in this chamber- This is
the Alchemist Chamber. This is the chamber of transformation where illness
is replaced with love-where pain is replaced with love.
You walk around
looking at all the plants. Some hanging from the rafters overhead and you
look at the dried leaves. The jars of different colors-salves-thick rich
creams. And walk around exploring-taking in this cave and the beautiful
soft light of fire. You see before you a table in front of the open hearth
and off to one corner a chair-a comfortable chair-You hear the sound of
running water. You explore to find its source and you see a cut in the
wall of the cave-an opening where water collects into a smooth marble-like
basin-carved naturally from the stone wall-from century upon century of
flow- and the water from this pool enters into another opening in the wall
to return to its source. A continuing flow through one opening then
collecting in a smooth bowl and flowing out into the earth again. Beside
the little waterfall you notice a goblet-a goblet.
Take the goblet and fill it
with water from the basin. Sit in the chair and drink this magic elixir.
And the water puts you into a deep healing sleep. A deep mental-sleep-you
let yourself drift as you drink the water. But as you drift you bring to
mind what it is you want a healing for-and this is the last thought you
have in mind as you drift into a healing, magical sleep. All becomes still
and silent. You slowly begin to stir from your sleep-minutes, hours or
days may have past by-you awaken now. The light from the hearth-fire still
illuminates this cave-all seems to be the same. All seems to be the same.
You notice something different. On the table you see a parchment with
words written upon it. Beside this parchment you notice a table-a
container filled with tablets or a jar of ointment or a jar of tincture.
Whatever is necessary for your healing you will notice there.
You take the parchment in your
hands- you see written on the parchment are the God-given instructions on
how to use the tincture or ointment. It will tell you how to apply it if
that is appropriate. How often - Also the amount. If you are unable to
read what is on the parchment-close your eyes and let your intuition tell
you - your inner voice - you have an inner knowing - you just know that
this is how to use the preparation. Know that contained within the jar or
vial is the mechanism-the ingredient necessary for the healing. So you
return to the chair now and with the goblet in hand you fill it with the
water. You begin-now to follow the God-given instructions. Take a moment
to take in and complete the instructions. Whatever it takes to complete
your healing do so now (long pause) When you have finished, drink the
magic water down and once again you drift off into sleep. A deep healing
sleep. As you drift to sleep you notice your body changing.
You notice the tablets
breaking down or the ointment permeating into that part of the body it
needs to enter. Or the tincture dissolving and entering into the blood
stream and you sense your body changing. Feel it-in your body-feel it in
your emotions-feel it in the quality of your thoughts. Sense the change
happening as you drift-slowly, ever so slowly into your healing sleep.
Drifting now-drifting you now enter a deep-healing sleep. In this sleep
you dream-you see your body-inside your body a brilliant-white
light-permeating every part of your body. The white that is there begins
to gather now-beginning to gather in the heart-into a ball. Let all of the
white light begin to form a ball in the heart. Sense it all condensing
into a brilliant shining ball-glowing white light. Let it get smaller
until it becomes the size of a quarter. All the white light that filled
you inside is now condensed into a coin the size of a quarter.
Now sense this
little ball of light flowing from the heart into the area of the malady.
If physical it will go to that organ-that part of your body that needs
healing. As it does it will totally surround this area of the body. If it
is a thought that needs healing-the negativity-perhaps sense the light
addressing that part-wherever it needs to go-you let go and surround that
part of the body that it wants to surround. If it's emotional healing-let
the white light go to that part of your body or mind/brain-let it surround
that part. As it surrounds the organ or area sense the organ being renewed
- sense it dissolving. Not repairing or revitalizing, but a new organ
forms-the old dissolves-the new organ forming. Sense the old negative
thoughts dissolving away-replaced by new more life enhancing thoughts.
The destructive pent-up
emotion, repressed-oppressed-suppressed emotions begin. Now free up and
release-releasing to make room for the emotions of healing-LOVE-GRATITUDE-
sense the emotions that are appropriate for the healing-replacing
repressed emotions of your past. Let it all become new. Sense the healing
taking place. Sense it changing. Let this dream no longer be a dream-LET
IT BE REAL. Feel it in your body - sense it in your mind. Experience it in
your emotions - let it be real - sense the change happening - as you do
drift to a future where you are healed. You are there healed - you are
there in a future. The body is healed - the emotions are healed - your
spiritually is strong and vibrant - your thoughts positive - directed
towards greater success -abundance in life. Sense yourself in a future -
being that person - living that life - that you are healed. Seize the
moment now. Be in that future letting your mind, body, senses comes alive
making that future real. (Pause) Know now that as you awaken you will find
yourself back in the present on the count of 5.
Though you are in
the present -you know and feel that the healing is happening-and will
continue to happen in a time that is appropriate for you. In a time and
way that is comfortable and appropriate for you. Soon, you'll open your
eyes and find yourself back in your room either sitting or lying, but you
will be different and you will feel it in mind, body, thoughts-you'll feel
it, and begin to live it - You are developing a healing gift which you
have received from the God/Goddess in the Alchemist Cave-Ready now. 1 - 2
don't open you eyes until the count of 5- returning now back to the
present - 3 - 4 - and 5. Slowly open your eyes- don't move too quickly.
Sense those things around you.
Take a breath-gently blow it out grounding yourself
back to the present. Feel now-take a moment-don't just pop-up and start
your day/evening. Feel the healing-feel the healing. If you are about to
go to sleep- Close your eyes and know that your healing will deepen and
continue-that your higher self will work with you to bring about this

Self-Hypnosis. (Start)
The Force is with me now.
Release me from my old tapes, Yes, those old programs, those particular
outmoded patterns of behavior that no longer serve me well. LIGHT break
the snares of these wrong headed ways that I tend to repeat. Yes, those
knee-jerk reactions, those bad automatic responses that are NOT the new
me. Give me the power to play up my strengths. I can overcome my
inadequacies. I can trust. I am ready to know that good things can last. I
will develop my autonomous skills. I am worthy. I have earned a good place
in this world. I am ready and willing to enjoy this good place that God
has given me. Release me on all levels- mental, physical and spiritual
from the self-deception of my pattern of worst-casing by over-sensitivity
to rejection, my wrong-headed anticipation of my own helplesness and the
often false expectation of angry disappointment by others. I am alive. I
am not dead. I am good to be with. I have love to give. I am ready to
receive love. No longer should I appease others and apologize for my
incompetence so I will not be abandoned. I must abandon the wrongheaded
game of dependent acquiescence and that game of inducing guilt in others.

SPIRITUAL FROM THIS SELF-DECEPTION THAT BRINGS ON SELF-INDUCED ANXIETY AND

candle LIGHT. Symbol of the Primal Force. . . May the Force Be With Me. .

I do deserve their love and they should give it to me freely and
willingly. Yes, Yes, BURN IT IN THIS WHITE LIGHT. . . LET THE FIRE OF THE
PRIMAL FORCE MAKE ASHES OF THOSE BAD MEMORIES THAT CAUSE ME TO FEAR THE
PRESENT. BURN AWAY THE TRIVIA THAT PURSUES ME. This white LIGHT has the
power to cleanse my mind of the obsessions which divert my attention from
what must be done now. The need is to do that which is good and correct
that which takes me on to the future before me. Encourage me to
acknowledge my attainments. For I have done well and deserve good
treatment from the world around me. (this is an alternative line for those
who need or want it.)
Light, break the hold that my past bad, sad, memories
have on me. Encourage ame to walk the walk to pursue happiness in the
TODAY and to know in my heart that I am worthy , I am loved, and that I

I call
upon the PRIMAL FORCE to free me. End the dominance and control radiating
from the past. Put me into the present. Send me into the future freed from
those old programs those worn out behavior patterns. Burn the past. I am
competent, lovable, interesting, and worthy. May the force be with me.

control How do I feel now Resistant How do I feel now - Anxious it is
moving up in my chest.)
The client/person exhibits the ways the control
patterns he/she has authored are operating to `stop' him or her from
giving up control. By repetitions of the initial short meditations with
this process over a number of days and weeks he or she will slowly (or
quickly) learn that he can allow himself to give up control so he can be
self-hypnotized or be the subject of hypnotism without giving up his
useful control patterns. Repetition of the short meditation followed by
truthful responses is the key to finding the way to modify his/her control
behavior patterns.
Part IV
Self-Hypnosis Script No. 4. TRANSFORMATIVE MEDITATION
Let us begin the
transformation now. You are either sitting or lying in a comfortable way.
Gently now, ever so gently, close your eyes. Allow the eyes to close -just
slowly. We are drifting into a state of deep- wonderful relaxation. Each
time you listen to this tape you will allow yourself to go into a deeper,
deeper, state of relaxation -to experience more tranquility, more peace of
mind. Now, allow yourself permit yourself to go into that state - that
wonderful state - of deep relaxation keep in mind, you are in charge of
this meditation. You are in charge at all times in this meditation. You
are in charge at all times during this meditation. Allow yourself to go to
whatever level of depth you wish to go to. Allow now, your self to relax,
to go deeper, deeper to experience the wonder and magic of this
meditation. You are seeing that relaxation is a permission we give your
self. This relaxation enables us to experience ever deeper states of
tranquility and peace. Relaxation is a permission we give your self to
experience ever increasing levels of contentment and peace.
As you listen to this tape
either before going to bed or during the day you will give yourself
permission every time you hear this tape to go deeper and deeper. If you
should happen to fall asleep during a tape session don't mind; your
conscious mind certainly won't be there, but your subconscious and
unconscious will work to make the suggestions take hold in the reality of
your life. Your subconscious and unconscious will work even while asleep
to make each of the following suggestions; each of the images, all of the
magic conveyed within this meditation happen for you in your life. So now
with a sense of comfort allow yourself to relax. You find you can do this

upon a time, anytime in your past, when you felt wonderfully and

and totally relaxed mentally and physically. Now let yourself remember
that time. What it was like mentally and physically - let your mind
remember what the mind felt like. Let your body -remember- simply remember
what it felt like being so wonderfully relaxed - so much at peace and
tranquility.
You
experience as you remember more and more of that experience. In fact, you
are beginning to experience it in the present. That exact same state of
peacefulness and calm. Give yourself permission to go deeper, to go
deeper. Sense a stream of vital energy relaxing flow into the toes of both
feet. Yes, through the toes of both feet a flowing stream of relaxing
energy. Experience it in whatever way you do. It could be a tingling
sensations, or, maybe as a gentle flowing stream of this relaxation. Or
perhaps there is numbness or even an absence of sensation. Yes, it could
be you don't feel anything at all. It doesn't matter. Permit yourself to
feel in what ever way you do. Relaxed, yes. So sense this stream of
relaxation flowing through the toes and moving upward into the balls of
both feet. As it flows up along the arch of the foot -through the heel
into the ankle -into the calf-up into the calf it flows. Condensing now
this is a stream of strong powerful relaxation as it flow into the knees-
it thickens as it flows upward now through the thighs - it is a vital
relaxing energy moving slowly, slowly into the pelvic girdle where both
legs meet, Now this relaxing flow is a stream flowing upward, now moving -
your self pulls it upward - You sense it flowing upward into the stomach,
on it flow into the torso of the body. It feels good as it surrounds and
permeates each of the organs of the body - its flow joins with the flow of
the arteries and veins and capillaries. This vital energy relaxes and
feeds each cell of the body nourishing each cell of the body with gentle
deep, deep relaxation. It is good.
You feel the sense of relaxation moving up into the
shoulders spreading out along the shoulder a gold flow of energy. It is
easing, relaxing, soothing. Some of it flows down into the arms. Some of
it remains at the neck. The relaxing energy flow through the upper arm.
The vital energy condenses once again now into the elbow into the forearm
it flows to the heel of the hand - to the palm - through the fingers where
you may sense a tingling or a numbness or perhaps nothing at all but it is
good. Just relaxing universal energy. Now the center of relaxation that
was waiting there in the neck in the shoulders moves up the neck into the
head. It surrounds the brain permeating the brain- with a bath that
soothes each of the parts of the brain.
This relaxing energy flows and thereby creates a
better functioning of each of the parts of the brain - the cerebrum, the
cerebellum-the medulla oblongata-the corpus colosseum-the frontal and
temporal lobes-the pineal gland all parts get soothed and bathed - the
pituitary gland gets cleansed as you are filled now from the top of your
head to the tip of your toes - filled, completely, totally filled with
marvelous relaxation with a wonderful - wonderful- deep- deep relaxation.
Now, we will countdown from 10 to 1. When we reach the number one sense

alive. Hear the sounds that you would hear there in the forest. Smell the
smells and touch the touch and feel the safety of this - your special
place. A place of safety and protection.
You are lying on your back in the tall sweet grass and
you hear the sound of a nearby waterfall. There it is, behind you.
Cascading 15 feet from a precipice flowing into a clear, crystal-clear
pool. Now get yourself ready. On the count of one be there. W with each
number that is announced counting down from 10 to l you find yourself
going with each number that is counted to experience more tranquility more
safety - more protection- more peace. We begin. now. 10 - 9 - sense

Enjoy lying on your back
in tall sweet grass- gazing up at the sky-a blue-deep azure blue sky. You

breeze creating streams, rays, sparkling lights - lights of sunshine that
sparkle and shine and scatter between the leaves as they sway gently in
that breeze. See the green of leaves and the dark rich brown of trees. Let
your senses come alive here, now. Feel the place- feel this place-sense
it. Feel the grass upon which you lie. The soft rich sweet grass. See your
hand spread it out into the grass. With thumb and forefinger rub it along
a stalk of grass - the blade of grass. Notice how one side feels smooth
and on the other side it is rough a bit coarse. With the tips of your
fingers you wave over the tops of the grass. You feel the gentle
tickling-prickling sensation. Now you sit up and you see the meadow
clearing about you. There are splashes of color. Wild flowers and deep
rich greens of shrubs and small trees and grass- colors many colors blues,
reds, pinks, whites- splashes of colors like an impressionistic painting.
The sun's rays dazzle it is rich and beautiful to your eye - beautiful to
behold. Smell the fragrance aroma of wild flowers - perhaps the smell of
wild roses or maybe lilac or the scent of new mown hay or grass carried by
the breeze. It caresses your skin. The breeze sways -the grasses and the
branches and the shrubs. Hear the sounds that you hear? Yes, hear the
sounds of the forest birds.
Perhaps some you recognize others you may not- perhaps
the sound of cardinal, a robin or a sparrow. You certainly can hear the
sound of the waterfall behind you as it cascades into the pool. You see
the brook near you that babbles and churns and bubbles its way from the
pool out into the very depths of the forest. Gaze about you and sense
enjoy this place - but most of all feel the safety here the protection
-you feel safe- you feel protected - you feel safe - you feel protected -
you feel peacefulness - you feel you belong here. You are a part of this
place. You gaze at the tall trees. You are reminded of your own strength -
you feel your depth. The depth of your dominion - of your power. Yes, feel
it. As the roots of the trees reach deep -deep through the power of trees-
They reach deep-deep into the power of the earth, and nature. You, too,
feel inside yourself a deep power- a depth of energy, character, and
purpose. You feel your strength. You sense yourself linked to the
universal force and vital energy. The vital energy permeates you. You feel
the safety and the peace of this - of this your place - your special place
of safety. You turn now to see the waterfall better. It is a most
beautiful waterfall. It flows and cascades from a precipice 15 feet high.
There is a rock covered in
a blanket of deep emerald green moss- in its crevices flowers - blues-
whites - and hanging vines. There are birds- yellow small finches flying
and darting in the mist of the waterfall - a beautiful waterfall. Standing
there by the waterfall you take your hand and you scoop up some water and
hold it to your lips and drink down the water. You feel the vital quality
of this giving crystal water- feel the life- feel it- feel it filling your
body making you feel alive. Taste, touch, smell, and see this place enjoy
this place. Now you remove the shoes you wear and the clothes from your
body. You step out into the pool - up to calves - it's not too cold it is
a gentle coolness as you walk into the pool itself - feel the water up to
thighs- and now to waist. You splash you're hands down into the water. Now
you go out into the water up to your breast- up to chest deep water and
there you bend your knees and submerge yourself in the water. This is
special water-a special pool you can hold your breath for as long as you
desire. So you submerge yourself in the pool- submerging yourself in the
pool now feel the freedom - feel the freedom. You stand once again.
You walk out of the water upon
a ledge that you see juts out under the water fall, beneath the cascading
water. You find yourself standing both beneath and behind the cascading
water. It is good a comfortable feeling. You then feel the gentle weight
of cascading water pressing down upon your head -and upon the shoulders
-it embraces your body - pressing you down ever so gently. You feel the
weight of the falling water- it is the weight of water cascading down 15
feet down crashing gently against you- You feel the pressure and want to
let go and let go now - Yes, let all of the old scripts go. Sense those
old programs those behavior patterns as like pieces of paper being washed
away from you - torn away - all the scripts of your life-the scripts that
you have written about your life. Yes, let them go now- all those scripts
that tell you that you can't - that tell you that you are not good enough.
All the scripts that hold you back-that keep you from living the full
value of your life. Let those entire scripts-let all of those bad play
go-like pieces of soggy wet paper - sinking down into the bottom of the
pool. Let the scripts go. Let the lies wash away-the lies that we tell
ourselves about ourselves.
The lies are now like pieces of gunk-like pieces of
dirt washing away - washing away - cleansing away from us. The lies - the
lies to justify our shame. The lies of our martyrdom-the lies of our
loneliness-the lies that we are not good enough-the lies that we are no
good- let them go- sense them like a swill- a swill of dirty water washing
down-washing out from the pool on into the brook. Let it go- feel the
weight of the water washing-cleansing and let the image go now-sense it
evaporating. The image of shame. The image of hurt-let that image go-sense
it evaporating away. Evaporating away. Now cleanse away the
blockages-sense the water pushing away all the blockages that we put in
front of our life to prevent ourselves from living the full dignity of our
own life-the eloquence of that life. Let it all wash away. Let it all
dissolve away: the scripts-the lies-the images and the blockages all are
cleansed away. You are relaxed and calm.
You sense now - you sense now - the water entering
into the top of your head. Of course, we don't know how that happens, but
it does. It is wonderful as the mind opens up the brain opens up-the
cavity of the skull opens up and the curing water rushes into the head
-rushes now into the head - it splashes gently around the brain- then down
into the neck along the shoulders through the arms and out through the
fingertips. It is a vital energy flow down the torso. It splashes along
the left leg and the right leg. A stream of water flowing around you and
inside of you breaking away all of the hurts- all of the lies-all of the
shames-all of the betrayals-all of the angers- Yes, it washes, cleanses,
rips away- Yes, let them break away from inside of you. Sense pieces of
anger and hurt breaking away. Sense the water washing around you-cleansing
you-outside as well as inside-of all the lies-the images-the blockages-and
the scripts-of all the hurts and angers-let them go now-let them go-all
those secrets we have kept so hidden-all of the secrets we have no names
for. The secrets that have been there before we even remember- let them
all go- the hidden lies-the hidden secrets-let them go now-let them all
go-all of the final obstacles-all of them just going. Sense them breaking
away-sense the pieces flowing out. Let them go now -it is a joy to let
them go- let them go... As the rest of the blockage, images, lies and
scripts-the last of the pieces of anger and hurt and shame- you let them
all break away now.
You
decide to exit the pool. Climbing out of the pool- stand once again upon
the grass. Let all of the special energy water that has collected inside
of you now -wash away through the hands and feet - through the fingertips
and the soles of the feet - all the rest of the cleansing water now leaves
your body. You feel now a lightness of being lightness - Relieved of all
of the junk that you have carried all these years now it is gone - you've
given it up. You feel a wonderful lightness that lifts you - It elevates
you. You sense this now as your body is floating just above the grass- you
are so light like a bubble your body floats- so light like a bubble - you
rise- light- free. Now you settle slowly back down on the grass of the
meadow glen gently- ever so gently among the grass. There you see before
you a gauze white robe. Good. You pick up the lovely white robe. Put it
around your shoulders -in go your arms - You wrap it securely about you.
Patting away the rest of the water you cloak yourself now in your freedom.
Yes, cloaking yourself now in your freedom. You gently lie on your back

weight you want to achieve. As you look at the picture say out loud what

Use your imagination and visualize you when your weight was just right.

thought has a physical response and every act has its emotional
counterpart. In the eye of the cosmos, your body and mine are one. Please
say now; I am a part of the universe. The universe is in my body. The
universe and I are one with God. We know that the passive observation of a
tree or a flower sets in motion a physical response involving billions of
protons from the retina of the eye to the various parts of the brain. The
very thought of a tree produces similar activity that can involve many;
many brain cells comparing associated memories. This is physical activity.
All mental activity depends upon physical changes in the tissues of the
body. Your mind can make you well just as your mind can make you happy.
This does NOT mean the trouble you are having is all in your mind. After
all, pain and symptoms are real. But the difficulty started in your mind
and you can treat it by redirecting your mind. Paula, the usual method of
reducing is diet. But, we know that most dieting brings about overeating.
The weight goes down but
then it goes back up. This looping sequence - known as yo-yoing" -results
in a chronic feeling of failure. Worse, each subsequent failure reinforces
the belief that the next attempt will fail. More important few, if any,
will accept the idea of a lifetime of repeated deprivation. Therefore, if
you want to obtain and maintain a healthy attractive figure, depriving
yourself of the food you want is not the answer. Through the use of your
imagination and the power of your brain to visualize you can attain a
normal healthy weight and maintain it permanently while eating as much as
you want. The Weight Watchers' point system is a good idea. However, any
restricted calorie diet with mild exercise will work for you. It will help
you to not want anymore than your body needs.
You will time your eating so you do it only when you
are physiologically hungry thus you enjoy the food more. It is essential
that you know the difference between physiological hunger and
psychological hunger. To reduce and maintain in this manner, you should
use the following procedure: 1. Choose the ideal
weight that you believe is right for you, which I believe is 136 pounds.
We could use 140 lbs. But, when you have accomplished that weight it
should be the high point of the good range 136 - 140 lbs. Now, visualize
yourself at the ideal weight of 136 pounds. Those who have always been
over weight may have difficulty doing this, but, you, Paula, won't because
you have seen yourself before at this weight you know how lovely you are
inside that body-stocking you are wearing and. Visualize.Find a magazine
picture of a person whose shape you admire. Cut the picture out and
imagine yourself with that figure. Or, better, yet, use the picture of
yourself from the past that you liked when you were at a weight you
desire. It may take practice but this is important. Keep the picture and
look at it often, the picture of the person you like or the one of
yourself when you were around 136 -140 pounds. Know that your body will
over-time take that shape. And it will. What is expected tends to be
realized. 2. Look at yourself now in a full-length
mirror. Do you like what you see? The real you is wearing a body stocking.
Now visualize yourself as you want to look and compare. Since imagination
and the power of the brain cannot make you do anything you don't want to
do, this will help you decide what you really want. Visualization of you
as you really want to be is a key. A small percentage of people have a
strong desire to lose weight, but their subconscious desire is to keep the
weight or they blame it on heredity which is highly unlikely. When the
conscious and subconscious minds are in conflict, the subconscious will
eventually win. Your conscious mind is the mind of choice, but your
subconscious mind is the mind of preference. You choose what you prefer.
If you prefer to do something that is detrimental to your health and
happiness, your subconscious minds always has ways to rationalize away
this detrimental behavior. Nevertheless and fortunately, these cases are
the rare exception.
If you
are the average overweight person, who I know you to be, you will find the
following method enjoyable, satisfying and a way to eat less and enjoy it
more. These positive and beneficial concepts are fed into your
computer-like subconscious-mind during the reading. The imaginative
exercise we are going to use will free you from destructive self-defeating
eating habits that allow you to eat without conscious restriction or
depravation. Weight watchers' point system will help, or, for some
counting calories as you eat during the day. You will eat what you want
but you won't want to eat destructively. 1. You
will eat only when you are physiologically hungry. 2. You eat and want only those foods that are good for
your body. 3. You will sit down when you eat. 4. You enjoy drinking water. Only water is water. You
find it very cool and refreshing and you like the taste. You find yourself
much thirstier than you formerly were. You will drink a full glass of
water before you start eating, say about 30 minutes before. You will not
drink water during the meal. You will wait and drink another glass of
water about 30 minutes after you eat. 5. Your
stomach is smaller and gets smaller with every passing day until it is
just right. 6. You remember that stuffy feeling
you had after those large Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners. Imagine and
visualize your stomach as small. 7. You always
leave some food on your plate. If it is a weight watchers' meal even a
little bit left there will help. 8. You are
enjoying a new eating habit. You always lay down your eating utensil
between bites and think only of the bite that is in your mouth.
Unfortunately, most overweight people want their food and are thinking of
their next bite on the plate rather than enjoying the bite in their mouth.
9. You are enjoying a new tasting habit. Because
you think only of the bite in your mouth, you enjoy it much more, your
taste buds become more sensitive and you get much more satisfaction from
each bite. You eat more slowly, you eat much less, but you enjoy it more.
10. Desserts, sweets, potato chips, pasta, and
starchy snacks are repulsive to you. They always remind you of a plate
piled high with granulated sugar covered with thick, sticky, syrup. Yuk!
11. Your goal is to get rid of 18 oz. of this ugly
unwanted fat each week. Visualize. Picture in your mind 18 oz. of pork fat
tied around your body. You will melt away that much weight each week and
your body will look and feel much better. 12. You exercise more. Take a
walk. The more you exercise, the better you feel because you know it heats
up your metabolism. The better you feel, the more you exercise. 13. You are going to look and feel better. In fact you
are feeling better now. Your clothes are fitting loosely. 14. You feel good about yourself and you deserve to.
You find yourself smiling more and walking differently. People notice how
good you look. People who use the following affirmation daily to maintain
their size and the shape they desire have discarded thousands of pounds.
They eat anything they want and as much as they want. But, they don't want
much because the suggestion is quite strong. The results are more
effective if you use this recording frequently. Everyday would be good, if
that is possible and convenient.
Now, Paula, take 3 deep breaths and each time exhale
slowly and think sleep now. As you let the air out of your lungs, relax
every nerve and muscle in your body. Imagine yourself loose and limber
like a soft rag doll whether lying down or sitting. Just pick up your arm
and let it drop as though it were heavy. Close your eyes and relax all the
muscles around them. Please, think of a beautiful scene, now. You are
walking through a shady wooded area. You are barefoot and the soft green
grass feels good to your toes as you walk along. There is a gurgling
mountain stream just ahead. You pause to feel the grass against your feet
before stepping on the cool flat rocks that border the stream. Your left
foot remains in the grass while your right foot feels the smoothness of
the rocks. Feel the grass between your toes for a few seconds. It is soft
and cool. Feel a smooth cool rock under your right foot.
Sit down and let your feet
dangle in the cool water. It is so pleasant and relaxing. You would like
to stay a while, but you see a crowd of flowers growing across the stream.
They smell wonderful. There is a quaint rustic bridge a few yards
downstream. You get up and walk toward it. You feel the cool breezes on
your face and notice the fleecy white clouds drifting across the clear
blue sky. Crossing the bridge, you walk through the wild flowers and enjoy
the scent as you breathe deeply and gaze about you. A hammock is stretched
between two trees at the top of a sloping hill and the narrow pathway
looks inviting. You become tired as you tread up the hill. Halfway up you
are tired and you want to stop and rest, but you decide to continue
climbing. What a pleasure it will be to lie down in that inviting hammock.
Only five more steps. You are very tired. Four more
steps, you are tired but you can make it. Three more steps, you are
getting drowsy. Two more steps. Almost there. One more step and then you
can rest. You touch the hammock; it is soft, inviting and relaxing. You
lie down and relax all over. You become limp, loose and lazy. You close
your eyes and feel wonderful. While you are in this relaxed state of mind
and body, you are receptive to suggestion. This feeling is entering your
imagination. Since the exact wording is unimportant, you don't need to
memorize the entire story. You might prefer a sandy beach and a climb to a
sand dune there to find the hammock.
Change the location, if you wish, to a place that your
mind loves. Perhaps, you would be beside a pool at a sunny beautifully
landscaped resort. Create a series of enticing scenes that you can
visualize and feel. While in the hammock, call upon your sense of smell,
touch, sight, and add hearing and taste. You hear songbirds and taste the
cool spring water just before lay down in the hammock. You are ready for
your affirmation. The affirmation for melting your weight away. Now as you
go deeper into relaxation, you realize that you have a right to enjoy a
perfect body, a perfect size, and a perfect shape. 136 pounds sounds just
right for the low end of the healthy range. This is your own body and you
have tremendous respect for it. You have now chosen an ideal weight and
size for your body and you constantly visualize this ideal look as the
real you. You now inform your inner mind of your overwhelming desire to
reach this ideal size and weight. It is a very important goal. It is an
overwhelming desire.
Now
relax even more. As you let go more, and more, imagine and picture that
you are alone in a large room. This room is your own secret place, a
restful peaceful, place. This room is where you enjoy coming every day
where you can picture yourself feeling slim and attractive, to enjoy being
the real you with a slim figure at 136 pounds. Now Paula, imagine how your
room is furnished. Choose the color of the walls, the color of the rich
soft carpeting and also notice that one wall is covered with a beautiful
spotless mirror. It is reflecting the beauty of your room and also
reflects you. Paula, you were never so happy. You are always your ideal
size and weight when you are in this room and you come here often to relax
and feel happy. You thoroughly enjoy posing and admiring yourself in the
large lovely mirror. You admire your attractive body. Just look at
yourself from a side view now and enjoy knowing that this beautiful
attractive person is you. You are thrilled and happy at the image you see
and you ought to be.
You
now sit down in a comfortable chair and look at your beautiful figure
while seated. You are growing very fond of this restful chair and as you
sink back into it. You go deeper and deeper into relaxation. You just feel
terrific mentally, physically, and emotionally. It's a wonderful feeling
to be healthy, slender and attractive and so easy that you wonder why you
haven't done it before. You look so good and you feel so good and you are
good. You do good things for yourself because you deserve the best life
has to offer. The process is going on right now and you are enjoying a new
positive personality. Looking at yourself and admiring yourself and
knowing that the reason you look so good and feel so good is the result of
your new respect and love for your body. It is also the result of your new
eating habits. You eat only when sitting down. When mealtime comes, you
sit down. Eating is enjoyed more than ever before. You enjoy the taste of
food more because of your tasting habit. Your food tastes so much better
because you give your taste buds a chance to savor each bite. You take a
bite and lay down your eating utensil. Your thinking and concentration is
only on that one bite. It tastes better in certain parts of your mouth.
You find that the taste is more important than the food. You concentrate
your entire attention on the bite you are chewing and you enjoy every bit
of taste it has to offer.
Finally, Paula swallows it, and only by then do you
consider taking another bite. It tastes wonderful. You have learned that
single bites taste much better only when you savor the flavor of each bite
the way nature intended you to do. Your stomach thanks you because it
remembers that terrible stuffy feeling that it had after those huge
Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners. Your body thanks you for allowing it
to become beautiful, healthy and vigorous. Paula, you are happy. Each time
you think of food when your body is in need of nourishment, you sit down
and you eat slowly enjoying every bite. Each time you think of food when
your body does NOT need it, you use your imagination and hypnotize
yourself. Take long deep breaths and count to 10. Close your eyes and
think "calm and relaxed".
As you exhale and think those words, "calm and
relaxed", you relax all over, every muscle droops, go to your secret room,
if only for a few moments. Open your eyes and decide if you need that food
now or do you want to enjoy it, later, when you know it will taste much
better. Yes, when the hunger has been saved up. Go deeper into relaxation.
Visualize yourself making the decision that will give you the most help,
happiness and progress toward your goal of the ideal weight of 136 pounds.
It certainly sounds good to me and I know it sounds good to you. Leave
food on your plate. When you leave food on your plate, you know you have a
choice. The food is wasted no matter where you put it, in your stomach or
in the garbage disposal. It will harm your body but not the garbage pail
or disposal. You are not a garbage disposal; you respect your body, eating
only what your body needs, leaving some on your plate. Now go deeper. Just
picture in your mind a quarter of a slice of bread. Always leave a portion
about this size or larger on your plate. You have a strong desire to leave
this quantity on your plate. You eat only when you are physiologically
hungry. That is why you enjoy the taste of food more than you have for
years.
You know there is a
difference between real hunger and a fool's appetite; your heart knows
what fool's gold is. Inexperienced prospectors used to find and collect
fool's gold only to be frustrated and disappointed. A fool's appetite is
just like fool's gold. When you mistake it for real appetite, you are
always disappointed. Boredom is not hunger. Disappointment is not hunger,
and frustration is not hunger. These are the feelings of a fool's
appetite. And you are certainly no fool. You were born to be a
one-of-a-kind individual. You were created to be a beautiful perfect human
being at 136 pounds. You now have a new and powerful method to deal with
stress factors in your life. If at any time, something distresses or bores
you, take a long deep breathe; stay calm and relaxed and go to your secret
room. Only when your body needs food do you partake of food. Go back to
your beautiful mirror in your secret room. Look at yourself. You are
becoming this beautiful image. You feel so good about yourself and happy.
You have complete charge of your body and spirit.
Relax even more and let these
ideas make a lasting impression on your subconscious mind. Now it is time
to enjoy your new eating habits, as they become part of you. Now is the
time to return to normal consciousness. Count to five. As you do, you feel
vitality and energy surging through your body. You are wide-awake at the
count of five. One, you are waking up. You feel full of pep and energy.
Two, you are more and more awake. You feel refreshed and normal from head
to foot. Three, you feel as though your eyes have been bathed in cool
spring water. You feel physically perfect and emotionally serene. Four,
you feel wonderful in every way. Five open your eyes. Stretch and feel
